Approximately 85% of all low back and neck pain patients are diagnosed with "Non-Specific Low Back or Neck Pain". In other words, we have no idea what is causing their pain condition.

Without a clear diagnosis, providers are left to follow trial-and-error treatment guidelines that are optimized for the population as a whole rather than for their specific patient.

As a result, the average chronic neck and low back pain patient has symptoms that last for more than 6 years.

Spine Motion Assessments

Pheno enables users to capture unique assessments of functional low back and neck motion. Wearable motion sensors are used during a standardized 10-minute clinical evaluation to capture dynamic motion capabilities including Flexibility, Speed, Acceleration, Symmetry, and Consistency. Biomarkers are created by comparing extracted features to patient or asymptomatic control reference populations.

Patient Reported Outcomes

Pheno has a variety of standardized Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs) that are available. PROs can be taken in-person or emailed automatically at specified intervals and are scored automatically to create usable biomarkers. Custom questionnaires can also be built to meet the needs of nearly any project.

Biomedical Imaging

Pheno will soon be able to ingest biomedical imaging data (CT, MRI, etc.) and associate it with project records. This imaging data will be used to produce sophisticated mechanistic models of a subject's lumbar and cervical spine that provide estimation of dynamic tissue forces as biomarkers.

Electronic Health Records

Discrete data can be transcribed from Electronic Health Records (EHRs) directly into custom forms developed in Pheno so all of your biomarkers and meta data are stored in a singular location. Future versions of Pheno may support direct pushing and pulling from EHRs.

Pheno is developed under FDA Design Control Guidance in accordance with 21 CFR 820.30. The system meets FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliance requirements for the management of electronic records used in medical device submissions.
